They say the most dangerous part of trekking to base camp is the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Well, I have to say it increased my heart rate considerably, especially when you can see in full view through the open cockpit.
Once on solid ground the beauty really hits you. We had the most clear wonderful day and walking through small villages seeing people going about their everyday activities was quite revealing and gave a glimpse into their simplified lifestyle.
Oh, and I found a Irish pub. Is there anywhere on earth without one? I didn’t stop for long, promise.
Do you have some golf club with you? Would be nice to see some shots down the mountain.
Disappointed to not see one of those outdoor coffee machines that are all over Riga now, underneath the Lavazza sign. But maybe a bit remote for them to come and service every day or two.
